FIRST BLOG ASSIGNMENT

1. How technology is going to affect how your students are going to be learning.

In the recent years, technology has become a very significant factor towards the development in the field of education. Without realizing it, technology has become indispensable in our life. As the technology advance, the role of the teacher also changes when they try to integrate students experiences with technology. The teacher no longer has to be fully in charge in an activity as they can give some of the control over to the students with the help of technology such as interactive whiteboard (smart board) and interactive PowerPoint. For example, the teacher can facilitate the students by providing them with conducive learning environment as a motivator for them to use their own knowledge to construct meaning from the resources that they were given. This will help them to understand the topic better as they indulge themselves in the activity rather than just listen to the lectures.

Furthermore, technology also provide the student with the accessibility to gain knowledge on their own. With the power of the internet, students can find all types of information with just a simple click of a mouse. But, not all of the information are safe for the students. For example, there are many bad website out there that offer pornographic pictures and other bad influence from the western countries that that are not suitable with our norms and values as Malaysian. Therefore, parents and teachers should play their roles to guide and monitor them so that they will know what to do with all the information that they can get with their hands.

2. How you as a teacher will be learning.

Teacher should be aware of the development in the educational world today as technology plays a very significant roles in teaching and learning. There are plenty of educational forums on the internet that teachers can join to share their tips, teaching ideas and even creative lesson plans with other teachers all over the world.

Moreover, teachers also can interact with each others via online conference. Our education system should practice to create online seminars and courses for teachers as this will certainly help them to reduce living cost by cutting down the traveling expenses.

Honestly speaking, we cannot deny that technology has revolutionize our ways of learning to a certain point that we only need a computer and internet connection to be as our personal teacher at home.

I have read your writing and its quite good in the sense on how you stress the importance of technology for the teachers in order to educate the future generation. However, I didn't quite agree when you said that computer and internet can be our personal teacher. As we know, not all information in the internet can be trusted and may be irrelevant with students' needs. So, the teacher play a very important role in the classsroom. Ok, thats just my opinion...thanks

I do agree with you that technology has revolutionize our ways of learning..
However, I think it has not fully be implemented yet at most of the school..
Therefore, we have the accountability to make use of technology in teaching later on..
coz..WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!huhu
